Since the middle of last century, "Beckolja" (i.e. tar oil) has been used
by the inhabitants of Northern Scandinavia partly as a remedy, partly as a
protection against Mosquitos and gnats. For the peasants and country
people in this part of the world, "Beckolja" has been - and will always be
- a permanent companion and friend, wherever they go. When
peat-harvesting, people brought it along together with their food packet
and coffee pot. "Beckolja" is a genuine natural product made from boiled
tar and has an aromatic flavour of forest and wildness.
Seit Mitte des vorigen Jahrhunderts hat man in Nordskandinavien
"Beckoljan" (etwa: Teeröl) teils als Heilmittel, teils als effektives
Mittel zum Schutz gegen Mücken und vor alle
Kriebelmücken benutzt. Für
die Ureinwohner des hohen Nordens war dies Mittel ein ständiger, täglicher
Begleiter und Freund. Beim Ernten auf dem Moor "Beckolja" etwas, was man
neben Mundvorrat und Kaffee stets bei sich hatte. Dieses Teeröl ist ein
reines Naturprodukt aüs gebranntem Teer. Es hat
einen frischen, aromatischen Geruch von Wald und Wildmark.
